Sometimes, you just need a quick project! And what is better than a washcloth for a quick stash buster? The pattern for the Trinity Stripes Washcloth makes a beautiful, slightly textured fabric, perfect for washing. It’s made with one ball of cotton yarn, and once you’ve got the hang of the Trinity Stitch, it works up in no time! Written instructions can be found below! Happy hooking!
- Approximately 102 yds (1 ball) of Peaches and Cream Stripey, or equivalent cotton yarn (I used the color Flannel)
- Size H/5mm crochet hook
- Yarn Needle for sewing
Stitches and Abbreviations
- Ch – Chain
- SC – Single Crochet
- Trinity – Trinity Stitch (see instructions below)
Begin with a chain of 41
Row 1: SC across (40)
Row 2: SC across (40)
Row 3: SC in first stitch, Trinity across until 1 stitch remains. SC in last stitch
Row 4-38: Repeat rows 1 and 2
Row 5: SC across
Trinity Stitch Instructions
Insert hook into previous stitch of last row (the one you worked your last stitch into), pull up a loop. Insert hook into next stitch, pull up a loop. Insert hook into next stitch, pull up a loop. You now have 4 loops on hook. Yarn over and pull through all 4 loops. Chain 1 to close. Continue across by repeating these steps. Each trinity stitch counts as 2 stitches (the trinity stitch plus the chain stitch), so you will have 19 Trinity Stitches, 19 Chains, and 2 SC for each row of Trinity Stitches.
