Winter Links Ear Warmer

This cute and cozy Winter Links Ear Warmer makes a stylish addition to your winter wardrobe.  It even coordinates with the Winter Links Scarf, and the Winter Links Beanie!  I really enjoyed creating this set, and I hope you do, too! Winter Links Ear Warmer- Materials

  • Portion of Skein Worsted Weight Yarn in Main Color (I used Lion Brand Basic Stitch Anti Pilling in the color Two Pines)
  • Portion of Skein Worsted Weight Yarn in Accent Color (I used Lion Brand Basic Stitch Anti Pilling in the color Silver Heather)
  • Size H/5.0mm Crochet Hook
  • Yarn Needle

Abbreviations

  • Ch – Chain
  • SC – Single Crochet
  • BLSC – Back Loop Single Crochet
  • LDC – Linked Double Crochet

Special Stitches

Linked Double Crochet (LDC) – Insert hook into middle loop of previous stitch, pull up a loop.  Insert hook into next stitch, pull up a loop.  Yarn over, pull through 2.  Yarn over, pull through last two stitches on hook.  Stitch Complete.  (To begin row, Ch 2 (does not count as stitch) insert hook into 2nd Ch from the hook, and pull up a loop.  Finish as normal.)

Ch 71

Using accent color

Row 1 – SC in 2nd chain from the hook and in each stitch across (70)

Change to main color.

Ch 2 (does not count as stitch)

Turn 

Row 2 – Insert hook into 2nd ch from hook, pull up a loop. Insert hook into next loop, pull up a loop. Yarn over, pull through two loops. Yarn over and pull through remaining 2 loops. First LDC made. LDC in all remaining stitches in row. (70)

Using yarn, mark this side as right side.  You’ll need this for assembly.

Ch 1, turn 

Row 3 – SC in each stitch across (70)

Ch 2 (does not count as stitch)

Turn 

Row 4 (same as row 2) – Insert hook into 2nd ch from hook, pull up a loop. Insert hook into next loop, pull up a loop. Yarn over, pull through two loops. Yarn over and pull through remaining 2 loops. First LDC made. LDC in all remaining stitches in row. (70)

Switch to Accent Color

Ch 1, turn 

Row 5 – SC in each stitch across (70)

Change to Main Color

Ch 2 (does not count as stitch)

Row 6 (same as row 2) – Insert hook into 2nd ch from hook, pull up a loop. Insert hook into next loop, pull up a loop. Yarn over, pull through two loops. Yarn over and pull through remaining 2 loops. First LDC made. LDC in all remaining stitches in row. (70)

Ch 1, turn 

Row 7 – SC in each stitch across (70)

Ch 2 (does not count as stitch)

Turn 

Row 8 (same as row 2) – Insert hook into 2nd ch from hook, pull up a loop. Insert hook into next loop, pull up a loop. Yarn over, pull through two loops. Yarn over and pull through remaining 2 loops. First LDC made. LDC in all remaining stitches in row. (70)

Switch to Accent Color

Ch 1, turn 

Row 9 – SC in each stitch across (70)

Fasten off and leave tail for sewing.

Winter Links Ear Warmer – Assembly

To assemble the Winter Links Ear Warmer, place fabric right side up.

Lift one end up, and loosely bend in half, with open side facing the other end of your fabric.

Lift other end, and loosely bend in half, with open end facing the other end, and sandwich together.

Holding ends together, sew through all 4 layers, securely.  

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Turn right side out.
